Constitutional Monarchy
Svarthaedir is a constitutional monarchy led by a sovereign monarch as head of state. While the monarch serves as the ceremonial figurehead, the executive and true power in Svarthaedir is held by the democratically elected President.
Executive Branch
The President leads a cabinet of ministers who oversee key government portfolios:
- Office of the President - Oversees the work of government, coordinates cabinet policy, and supports the President in setting national priorities.
- Defence - Directs the armed forces, safeguards national security, and prepares the Dominion to respond to external threats.
- Home Affairs - Manages internal security, policing, civil administration, and the systems that keep daily public life functioning.
- Foreign Affairs - Handles diplomacy, treaties, and the Dominion's political relationships with other nations.
- Treasury - Controls public finances, prepares budgets, and guides economic policy across the state.
- Justice - Maintains the legal system, oversees the courts, and develops laws to uphold order and rights.
- Education - Sets standards for schools and learning institutions while promoting access to education across the Dominion.
- Transport, Trade and Commerce - Oversees infrastructure, regulates trade, and supports the movement of goods, people, and investment.
- Energy and Industry - Develops energy policy, supports industrial growth, and secures the resources needed for national production.
- Sport and Culture - Promotes athletics, heritage, and the arts as central parts of Svartic national life.
- Health and Social Care - Oversees hospitals, public health, and welfare services that protect the wellbeing of citizens.
- Agriculture - Supports farming, food production, and the long-term stability of the Dominion's agricultural sector.
- Fisheries, Environment, Rural Affairs - Manages marine resources, environmental stewardship, and the needs of rural communities.
- Commonwealth and Development - Coordinates ties across the Commonwealth and advances long-term development policy at home and abroad.
Legislative Branch
The Svartic Samkoma (Ingallish: Svartic Assembly) is a unicameral legislature consisting of 159 members. Representatives are elected through proportional representation for four-year terms. All citizens aged 18 and above have the right to vote.

In the next elections to be held in the summer 326, the current distribution of parliamentary seats among political parties after the last election (from left to right on the political spectrum) is:
- Association for Equality and Social Justice (AESJ) - 19 seats
Focus: Social justice, wealth redistribution, workers' rights - Social Democrat Party (SDP) - 22 seats
Focus: Social democracy, labor rights, environmental protection - Progressive Party (PP) - 81 seats
Focus: Centrism, agricultural interests, current governing party - People's Alliance (PA) - 7 seats
Focus: Rural development, traditional values - Independence Party (IP) - 19 seats
Focus: Free market economics, conservative values - Citizen's Party (CP) - 11 seats
Focus: Libertarian policies, reduced government intervention
Non-Parliamentary Political Parties
Several smaller parties, while active in political discourse, currently hold no seats in parliament:
